Today we got back our english results. Like I have said before, as long as you have tried your best, do not be too sad if you did not get the results you expected.
Daniel returned to school today so thank God that he can take his exams. Please continue to give him support so that he can catch up with his work!
We also celebrated Teacher's Day today, so Happy Teacher's Day to all the teachers!

Teeheehee, thanks Bristan for congratulating me on my success for my maths exam. I was really astounded that I got full marks for my Section C as carelessness always takes the lead in my work. I was actually thinking that I would get 47 or 48 but it was a surprise.
Now regarding Daniel's period which he will return to school will be tomorrow 30-08-2006. He should be doing quite well in parts of recovering (all thanks to you guys ferverntly praying for him to get well soon) since he was discharged on Monday afternoon and has gone back to rest for a few days. He will be taking his Science and Social Studies exam tomorrow and hope he can finish it on time and get his A*s.
Regards
Ryan

The prelims are over, so how are the results? We did not get any of our papers back today except for the maths paper, which Mr Lim said we did well overall. Those who got good marks, keep it up and make sure you get the same during PSLE! For those who did not do so well, don't worry! Look at your paper and learn from your mistakes; look at the positive side, it's better to make the mistake now than in PSLE! There have been so many people who did badly during the prelims, but in the PSLE they stunned everyone! So keep up the good work guys!
Daniel Shim did not come to school today, so someone please update us on him. Meanwhile, keep Daniel in your prayers!

Good news! The prelims are finally over and we can all rest for a while. From now onwards, all the exams would be the actual PSLE, including the PSLE Listening Comprehension. Those of you who think that you did not do well, don't worry about your results, as long as you have tried your best!
Reminder to those Higher Chinese boys, tomorrow is the HCL paper, please remember to bring your dictionary (if you have and want). All the best!

Sorry that today's class blog is out so late. The Social Studies exam was not very hard, hopefully, for you guys since it was an open book examination. All the best everyone for the Science paper, the last paper of the prelims!
After this, we can take a (very) short break before we prepare for the listening comprehension, and then the final, actual, PSLE exams! Remember what Mr Johnstone Lim shared with us today (think about THAT moment) and aim for the best for the coming month! Whenever you feel tired of studying, think of what Mr Lim said!
Once again, all the best!

Wen Shien

Hello everybody, I was just thinking about the past few exams so I didn't do any post and thought that they were very hard like Maths which I didn't really have a good foundation on it so I am very weak at it. But surprisingly, it wasn't as hard as I though and I could finish the Maths paper in good time, and I found out that I didn't get quite many wrongs as I predicted because we were exchanging answers to each other after the exam with my friends. For Chinese today, it was very simple to me (I am not too sure for the rest of you people) and the comprehension was very short and simple. For the composition, I didn't do very well as up to my expectations as I did the 1st question and I needed alot of planning as how I was going to write the story and dictionary checking all that etc.. And by the way, Daryl why did you apologize to me when you have done nothing wrong? If we didn't post anything these few days, I know that 6F will not blame us because we had to study for the exams and even if we were allowed to use the computer the duration wouldn't be long.

Also, there is nothing interesting these few days, with a few exceptions such as *ahem* (cencored for privacy) making a new word called "gacidic"... Well, hope everyone did well in prelims! One more major paper left, Science... Hope everyone will do well. Haiss... Looking forward to soccer game in Sep hols!!! Oh ya... Wen Shien has become one of our editors (sorry Ryan, neither of us is posting on the blog and its very boring reading the same posts over and over again)!

Ms Tan has booked the entire sports hall for us to play during the September holidays for 1 hour after the supplementary lessons. It will be from 12.30 to 1.30. It is on 8 September, which is a Friday ( and the last day of our supplementary).
Those who want to stay back, please stay back for the soccer game. And if you have a soccer ball, remember to bring it in. Good luck for the coming examinations!
Reminder: Remember to bring your Social Studies textbooks 6A and 6B for Monday's examination! Unless you will have to memorise everything!

This is regarding the SS paper on 28 of Aug. Remember to bring your 6A & 6B textbooks as it is an open-book exam. Don't spend too much time on this as it is not a core subject. But, don't neglect it either. You don't want a "C" for SS in your report book, do you? You can leave your SS book in the locker or in the SS cupboard in class if you are scared you forget, like Ms. Tan suggested.
Thanks,
Daryl

Tomorrow is MT oral for some of us, EL for the rest. Wishing everyone good luck!!!

Definition of HATE…
1. To have a great aversion to, with a strong desire that evil should befall the person toward whom the feeling is directed; to dislike intensely; to detest; as, to hate one's enemies; to hate hypocrisy. "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer." 1 John iii. 15.
2. To be very unwilling; followed by an infinitive, or a substantive clause with that; as, to hate to get into debt; to hate that anything should be wasted. "I hate that he should linger here." Tennyson.
3. (Script.) To love less, relatively. Luke xiv. 26.
Synonyms -- To Hate, Abhor, Detest, Abominate, Loathe. Hate is the generic word, and implies that one is inflamed with extreme dislike. We abhor what is deeply repugnant to our sensibilities or feelings. We detest what contradicts so utterly our principles and moral sentiments that we feel bound to lift up our voice against it. What we abominate does equal violence to our moral and religious sentiments. What we loathe is offensive to our own nature, and excites unmingled disgust. Our Savior is said to have hated the deeds of the Nicolaitanes; his language shows that he loathed the lukewarmness of the Laodiceans; he detested the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees; he abhorred the suggestions of the tempter in the wilderness.
Strong aversion coupled with desire that evil should befall the person toward whom the feeling is directed; as exercised toward things, intense dislike; hatred; detestation; -- opposed to love. "For in a wink the false love turns to hate." Tennyson.
For more information, please go to this website http://www.selfknowledge.com/43142.htm
Some people use the word “HATE” too casually. They use this word, without thinking how it will affect the person whom they used the word on. The next time before you use this word, please THINK twice…

Time sure flies. It seems like the start of the year was just a few days ago, and now, PSLE is here. Nervous? Excited ? Ok, if you are excited, you are nuts. JUST KIDDING! I am both nervous and excited (think of what you can do after the exam! ~"I'm thinking about my enjoyable"~ *hehez* ). But we'll have to put those happy thoughts away (for now) and focus on revising for the PSLE. This Thursday and Friday is our PSLE Oral. Remember to go to the RIGHT group and come at the right time. I don't want to go for the 7.30 timeslot!!! Waste so much time waiting after you are done!!! Sadly, you can't choose your timeslot. Haiss... Study hard guys, only like, 1+month left!!! Good luck!!!

Today there is the Fireworks Festival at Esplanade! I am not going as I had a "bad experience" last year. My family waited for one and a half hours for a promised 15 minute fireworks display. Sadly, it only lasted for 5 minutes!!! What a waste of time... Oh well, nevermind. Whats done is done, can't turn back the clock. At least it was a great display of fireworks! Any of you going for the Fireworks Fest today? Tell me what it was like. I think it will be great this year!

Wishing a very happy belated birthday to our homeland! Sorry i can't log in on the actual date (*buhu*) as I will be working hard and not enjoying the somewhat 3-day "holiday". Our nation is 41 this year! I hope to be able to serve the country when the time comes. Anyone going for the NDP show or doing something special to commemorate this event (I'll be studying *buhu*AGAIN) ? Drop a comment on how it was and if you enjoyed it or just how you spent the day! I'm sure a lot of you guyz will be doing the same as me, but I still have a 50% chance of watching the NDP show on tele!!! YAY!!! Oh well, back to work...

Haiz... Today is the most boring national day celebration I have ever experienced. After the Flag Ceremony, I (Prefect Councillor) still have to help tally the votes of the boring Singing Competition(wearing my blazer). If some of you don't understand what I am saying or don't agree, please don't come and tell me this is not what I want and please change it; for this blog post is how I am feeling about what I am writing. I personally think that the school should set up more fanciful stuff about National Day like a quiz to test all of us about what we know about the country instead of singing. In the end, nobody came to thank us for helping them tally the votes( except Mr Adrian Kum ). In my point of view, if they think they really can do it by themselves, why should they come and tell us about on what to do? If they do it on their own(the teachers in charge of this singing thing), they won't need to be so angry and waste their breath on us if we accidentally do the wrong thing. That means if they do wrong they can't blame others but themselves.
Ryan

Today, I received a lot of homework to do over the weekend. That includes Chinese, Science and Mathematics! As we P6 pupils are having the PSLE coming soon, we have to revise and practice the "concepts" we have learnt, so that we can "apply" them during the exams. We also have to "prioritize" our time schedules so that we can prepare ourselves for the upcoming exams. I really hope that I can finish the whole batch of homework before Monday so that I can be prepared for another batch that is coming. Best of luck to all my classmates with coping with your studies!

The day before, Gabriel asked Mr. Rafiei if the was swimming the next day. "No" was his answer(I was there and heard it myself). Then, Gabriel wrote a "No swimming" note on the board in good intention, to inform the whole class about the news.
The next day, Mr. Rafiei got a shock when everyone did not bring their swimming stuff and somewhat "scolded" Gabriel for writing that note on the whiteboard, saying that what he said the day before was a "joke". Mr.Kelvin Lim also had a "chat" with Gabriel.
Mr.Rafiei said," Do not tell the whole class unless I say ' Please inform the class that...' and I would only tell the class monitor or the prefect "
How would we know? This is the first time he said it and I feel that Gabriel was not to be blamed, as he did not know it was a joke! And jokes are meant to be funny, I personally did not think it was amusing at all. Please comment on this incident!

Daryl
